movin' movin' movin'.

It has begun.

The sweat, the tape, the huge paper cardboard cuts, loading boxes just to find out the board games will not fit perfectly and the nintendo 64 probably needs a little more padding and everything else that comes with packing and moving {almost} across the country, it has begun. And though I'm grateful we can get starting and stop sitting around just waiting to be busy, I'm dreading actually getting everything together and fitting it all in our pod and then driving for way too many hours (because husbands license is expired--grrr virginia dmv) just to unload in a place that has nothing yet therefore has no space to put things...
but i'm excited! I really am!!

Today we packed up a bit more and cleaned the house up real nice for some people to come look at it. 4 o'clock came and went...then 4:10...4:15...4:20. We called the people. "Oh, yeah we meant to call you, we think it's just too far from campus." Would've been nice to know that 6 hours ago. But now we have a clean house and more boxes packed!

We decided we needed some slurpage so we went to 7-11. As we walked in a very enthusiastic cashier says to us "Are you here for the FREE slurpee!?" to which I responded somewhat hesitantly {is this a joke..?} "yes...?...!"

It's July 11 smarty pants. Free 7.11oz slurpee for me!! And then the dumb tape, hurt shins, sweaty body and poopy people who don't show up when they say they will day was okay.

Thank you, world, for slurpees.

because i am blessed.

Happy Birthday Husband!!

Kimball turned a quarter of a century old yesterday!
His parents got him a custom bowling ball a couple weeks early and since he is so into bowling lately we decided that would be the theme of his birthday. I'm not sure what it is but since being married I've turned into the party queen; I love planning and throwing parties. That doesn't always mean they are a success but I like to do it nonetheless. So we had a few of Kimball's closest friends over last night for a some goodies, games and glee {the feeling, not the show}. And we got to meet Tyler's (Kimball's best friend) fiance!! Double bonus.

Top: Josh, Tyler, Kimball and Chad
Left: Kimball blowing out his candles (it actually does say 25, with 25 candles...i'm cheesy, get over it...but evidently we had wind in our home)
Right Top: Josh and Tyler rocking some Michael Jackson moves with PS3Move
Right Middle: Josh and Tyler still rocking the MJ
Right Bottom: Kimball showing off his best MJ hip thrusts

**Side note: getting the move was the best idea ever, we use it soo much and it's an instant party favorite. just sayin'.

Annnnd the goodies!
Bowling ball cupcakes {yellow cake with chocolate frosting, because kimball is kimball},
Bowling pin chocolate covered pretzels {that actually look like tube socks but no one cared because they were sooo yummy},
Bowling ball and squiggly sugar cookies,
and Bowling pin rootbeer bottles {painted white with red electrical tape around the top}

Despite the few numbers at the party we had very little left over which made me very happy.
It was a great day and a fun night celebrating 25 happy years of life with friends!

I'm so lucky to have married Kimball, he is my very best friend, confidant and consoler and I can't even think of not spending forever with him.

Happy 25th Sweets!!
LOVE YOU!

because i am blessed.

DC//post three.

After a day in the city we met up with Ali and Nathan (yay)!
It'd only been a few weeks since we'd been to Disneyland with them but we were so excited to get a night with them! After talking and swimming (because we're az girls at heart) we went to this adorable restaurant in Alexandria called King Street Blues.

I didn't bring Lady (my camera) so my phone had to do for the night.
I'm not sure if it's my stance or my ked-like shoes but I look totally 80's here. Like Kelly Kapowski without the big hair and the sun kist skin. Oh, and I weigh more than 80 pounds.
Next our chic DC friends knew of a place up the street that had great ice cream so we hit up Pops Ice Cream. After licking to our pleasure we walked the little ways down to the pier and Ali and I took the "best friends" photo in front of the dock :) {Our husbands were sick of being in photographs-ha}
Then we ran back to the car because our street parking 2 hours was almost up.

So fun to see Ali and Nathan and explore another part of the great state of Virginia! If you are ever there you must check our Alexandria, very very cute little town!

That's it for VA and DC! Next up Hubs birthday and forth patriotism.

because i am blessed.
