here's to six months of "us".

here's to six months of sweet love notes,
to little kisses, and big ones,
to snuggles
and nights in.
to six months of bear hugs,
 tons of giggles
and full-out laughter.
to made up songs, and dances.
to long talks of wishes and some days
and expressions of gratitude.
to sugar highs
and movie marathons.
to sunday walks
and cute good night texts, while lying right next to each other.
to all of the new things we've learned about each other and come love about one another
in the last six months of marriage.

I am so lucky to have such a beautiful husband
who makes me so happy and goes out of his way to make sure
I stay that way!
Six months has gone by so quickly and I'm in no rush for the years to pass.
I'm so excited to spend the rest of forever doing what we do every day.
Even after years of wondering and day dreaming about who I would marry and what he would be like I would've never imagined someone as wonderful and as perfect for me as Kimball is.
He is more than I deserve and more than I could ever wish for
and I am so grateful I get him all for myself!

I love you Kimball Andrew.

because i am blessed.

cubs game!!

Wrigley Field is BEAUTIFUL!
It was so fun to pick up husband early from work and go to see the Cubs and the Giants play
Americans favorite pass time, here are some photos.

The famous scoreboard!
Still man-run from behind with the individual number boards.

We got some great seats!

We were so lucky to find affordable tickets so close to the field!
It was such a great experience and even though the Cubs didn't win (sad) it was great
to be a part of the great game in such a historic field!

Do you like my shirt?
It took me forever to find one that wasn't huge.
The little boys section in Walmart came to the rescue with this gem
(don't judge).

Love my husband, Love baseball, Love adventures!

because i am blessed.

our weekend.

Husband found a sculpture park close to our place
so Sunday we went to check it out with Jordan and Michelle!

sneak peak..

I told him to make the face.. hah

Jordan looks like an art critic with his hands behind his back like so
 Little birdies lived inside!

Jordan and Michelle - too cute
I was kicking myself for not bringing my other lens when we saw this baby bunny
but I was able to sneak up and snap a few before it took off.

 hahah I love Michelle
Kimball was worried that this would look like he was kissing the ear of this "man"
(he was convinced this was an end-of-the-movie-beast-from-beauty-and-the-beast sculpture. you know at the end when he turns into the guy with suuuper long hair and you think to yourself, "seriously..? that's him?")
 Dinner Time.

Art, a walk in the park, taking photos, being with friends and husband, eating corn on the cob, pan fried red potatoes, bbq chicken salad, texas toast, yummy fruit and kool-aid made for a wonderful weekend.

Husband and I are going to the Cubs game tomorrow after work so I gotta go get me a shirt!
Happy Monday lovelies!

stairs.

Apparently I don't do stairs.
Well, that's not fair..I should say that I don't do stairs quickly.
The elevator in our building is always so slow so I generally
take the stairs.
Today I was a tad bit late picking up husband so I rushed to the elevator
which decided to take it's sweet old time
(as usual)
so I jogged to the stairs
and jogged down the stairs
and stumbled on the stairs.
I don't do stairs.
I've always thought of myself as a graceful person
but as I jimmied down those stairs I felt like a football player!
Not that I'm a big person, I just stomped like I was.
It must've been quite a sight, my legs wide apart my body hunched over and my face in a panic
to keep from stumbling head over heels (in the non-romantic way).
Anyway, I made it down the stairs and silently gave thanks that there were no spectators of this moment of mine.

After husband and I got home we decided to go to the mall to browse and return something.
I came upon stairs, surveyed my surroundings, and after seeing I was clear for the go
I took my chance.
This could've been dangerous considering it was granite and swirly
but I was brave.

It turns out I'm not so bad on stairs when I'm going slow,
maybe that's the secret.
Next time you see me I'll be elegant and smooth, with my legs neatly together and my face calm
much like I imagine this faceless woman with very graceful looking legs.
Anywho, funny story of the day!
P.S. just wondering..have you ever fallen down the stairs..? please share :)

thank goodness for weekends!

We took advantage of no work and filled out weekend to the brim.
There is a pool super close so we got season passes and spent our Saturday enjoying the sun, finally!

Sunday night we tried a new chicken parmesan recipe that turned out so yummy

and of course we played a billion games of scrabble
a new addiction of ours :)

Kimball and I learned how true TGIF is!
It was so good to have a couple days with my husband all to myself :)
Today he's back to work and it's rainy so it's laundry day for me..fun fun!

Hope you lovelies had a wonderful weekend!

almost there!

For the last 6 months Kimball has been studying for the CFA Exam.
(What the heck is that?- I know)
It's the Chartered Financial Analyst Exam
(yes, it is as ridiculously hard as it sounds)
There are 3 different levels, or tests, to become CFA certified and many jobs
require you to pass all three levels.
Kimball doesn't have much interest in the jobs that require this
but it looks great on a resume
AND
he received a grant from the Marriott School at BYU (because he's crazy-smart like that)
paying the full $12,000 to take the test
and gave us a discount on the study material
(crazy expensive, i know)

This is the breakdown of Level One.

Basically, Kimball is a genius (but really, he is).

He studies anywhere from 3 to 6 hours everyday out of
5 fatty text books that are the "cliff notes" of the actual study material!

A few weeks ago there was a mock exam at BYU that helped the
students see what areas they needed help in and such.
It was exactly like the real exam (and Kimball stressed like it was the real exam)
but he more than passed the test!

Let me explain how big of a deal this is.
To ensure that you pass the test you must earn at least a 70%
sometimes the average goes a little lower and you can pass with a 65%.
The test is administered every 6 months, the last test was in December and the
 passing rate was 35%.
Yes, I do mean that only 35% of the ba-gillions of people who took the
 exam world-wide passed.
So basically if you get a D you are brilliant.
I'm telling you, my husband is a genius.

He is ONE day away from taking the test and both of us
could not be happier!
The results are not given until the end of the summer
which is sort of a bummer :(

But whatever happens, I'm extremely proud of Kimball
and his dedication and headache-inducing hours of study over the past
6 months.

because i am blessed.
